Gardening Marquee

Gardening will again be a focus this year and a large  marquee is to be extended to house the related attractions. These will include a Garden Produce competition, the Flower Arranging Competition and a Gardeners’ Question Time Panel to answer all your queries, a scarecrow competition and stalls selling or demonstrating gardening products. Details below:

Produce Show

As the winter has thrown its worst weather upon us for longer than most of us can remember we can now look forward to polishing our forks and spades as well as sowing and planting all manner of vegetables. We will all be hoping that they grow and flourish in time for the produce competition which once again will be held in the produce marquee and run by the Whittington Allotment Society.

The competition is open to all and each entry will cost just 50p, so come along and enter as many categories as you can. There will be cash prizes for the winners in all the categories and all entries must be booked in, paid for and displayed by 11 a.m. on the morning of the show. Judging will take place at 1 p.m. and the prizes awarded shortly after.

Entry forms will be available in late summer from the shops and pubs in the village, direct from Rob Wincup on 01543 433096 or John Smith on 01543 432848. Categories as per last year, details on the web site.
