CLERK TO THE COUNCIL – VACANCY
The Parish of Whittington and Fisherwick is one of the largest in the District of Lichfield, and has a population of around 2,900. The Council consists of fifteen members.
Applications are invited for the post of Clerk to the Council. The part time post is mainly home based and initially will be 22 hours per week to be worked flexibly. The pay per annum will be in the range of £15,900 to £17,900 depending on experience and qualifications. There are 11 Full Council meetings which take place in the evening, plus approximately 8 Committee meetings..
The post-holder will be the Council’s Legal and Responsible Financial Officer and should have experience of accounts, PAYE, minute-taking and correspondence. Part of the role will be the management of the Council’s various contracts. The successful applicant will be computer literate, will ideally have previous local government experience and will be expected to have, or be willing to work towards, completion of the Certificate in Local Council Administration (CILCA). First class communication, initiative, and interpersonal skills are required.
The conditions of employment and remuneration will be based on the National Association of Local Council’s recommendations.
